Large bus order for VDL in Berlin

Two years ago, the Berlin Transport Authority (Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe, BVG), subjected two VDL Citeas LLE-120 to intensive field tests in the urban traffic of Berlin. The lightweight buses proved their mettle, passing with flying colours. BVG officially awarded the tender contract for 236 low entry buses to VDL Bus & Coach on 9 May 2014. The delivery of the 236 Citeas LLE will take place during the period from 2014 to 2017, based on a framework contract established between BVG and VDL Bus & Coach that includes an option to extend by two years.
